Taking a Break

Right now we are in the process of moving to my in laws, so I will be taking a break for a week or so before I am able to update again. Hopefully before the baby comes! If I am able to find some time during this process, I will try to post.

Quick update:
-Time outs have been going okay, we are hitting each other less. So I guess its working!
-Moving to the in laws this week, so we will be very busy. The girls will be with Grandma and Grandpa a lot... miss them every time they are gone.
-We are still trying to get the house we want, but not sure if it will work out. Hopefully, but if not, we will have to start looking for something else. But there is not much out there!
-I am so ready to have this baby, only 2 more weeks! I am sure when he comes I will wish him back inside me! It will be hard to leave the girls for a few days while in the hospital, but hopefully they will visit daily! I will miss them so much, I could cry just thinking about it.
-Girls are great, they are very independent lately, but every once in awhile I get some loving! Love my girls!

Christmas At Home

We decided to do our Christmas this afternoon since we will be gone tomorrow morning. The girls each had about 4 gifts to open. They were not too sure what to do, so I had to help a bit. Once they realized what was going on, they got excited! Tonight we have Josh's family and then tomorrow we have my family and his family again. Then on Sunday we have my families again! So should be fun!

Santa & 18 month Check- Up

Sitting with Santa! Please excuse the blur, I did not realize at the time, Maysie had smeared the lens while standing in line!
This is where Makenna was most of the time, she loved the pencils and rings!
Jaeli liked playing with the rings and would get up every once in awhile and walk around, she was pretty laid back!
Maysie LOVED the ducks, she kept trying to take them. Eventually she did get one when mommy gave up chasing her around!

So I took the girls to go see Santa with the help of Grandma J and Grandpa R! It was as expected, but they did not cry, which is good! Jaeli and Maysie did really good, just sat there. Unfortunately Makenna had to stand in between his legs b/c he could not hold all three of them, but she just was not having it. She found a bucket of pencils and that is all she wanted to do! So we let her take them with her and she decided to sit on the floor in front of Santa with them! Hopefully next year goes better! I think they all had fun though! They just ran around finding new things to play with and people to talk to! They were a big hit! It was a bit hard for me trying to keep an eye on all of them, I had to sit most of the time, getting harder to stand for a long period of time. But thanks to family helping out and some friends there, we were able to keep them occupied and out of too much trouble!

18 Month Check Up
Makenna 26 lbs. 12 oz. and 32"
Jaeli 22 lbs. 11 oz. and 30"
Maysie 21 lbs. 7 oz. and 29 5/8"

We talked to the doctor about their behavior lately. They love to hit & bite each other or themselves. They also like to through their head against the wall at times! Well the doctor said it is all normal. They are becoming familar with their senses. She said they hit their head on the wall because to them it feels good, they like the way it feels. At least until they do it too hard and it hurts! As for bitting and hitting, it is their way of getting attention from each other or from mommy and daddy! So what do we do about it... well... she said it is time to start time outs! Since they are too young to sit in one place, we are suppose to "contain" them in our lap, wrapping our arms around their bodies for a minute and let them know they are in "time out". She said sometimes they will mis-behave just for that attention, because it will be worth it. We are only suppose to do it if they are harming each other. If they harm themselves by bitting or hitting, then we just IGNORE them! They will eventually learn that we wont pay attention to them if they do it. So this should be interesting!

As for pacifiers and balnkets... I told the doctor I was thinking about trying to get rid of them, but she said NO, that this is the age they need them the most. She said they are going through a sensitive stage and the blanket and paci help them get through it. It helps them handle tension. It is their security and comfort. So we are going to wait until they are 2 or 2 1/2 before we do this! Probably better this way anyways with the new baby and move coming up!

We are becoming picky eaters. Doc said it is because they are starting to develop their taste buds more and realize what things taste like. They wont just shovel anything down now, they have to like it to eat it. So hopefully we can come up with meals we all like!

Naptime... she said this is about the time they will need less naps. Which has been happening! They usually only take one a day. So we will have to set up a new schedule soon!

She said they are doing great in everything and growing just as they should be! This is when they start to slow down and probably will stay these weights or close to them for awhile. She is very excited to meet our new addition when he comes!

Early Christmas Present

Our new Dora ball house! The girls love it! It is a bit small to get all three in there at once, but they manage, sometimes sit on each other and fight. Most of the time it is just one or two in at once time and the other one is throwing the balls or putting them in it. They always go right for it when they get up in the morning. They actually get mad that I change their diaper first before I let them go play!

34 Weeks and 2 Days!

Today I am officially 34 weeks and 2 days with our baby boy! Why is this so different than any other day, well because at 34 weeks and 2 days with my last pregnancy I delivered the girls! They were in the NICU for 1.5 weeks and 2 weeks. I think I could have gone another week or even two, but the doctor thought I was ready and honestly, so was I! But it sure would have saved us a bit of money if they would have been take home babies!

It is crazy to think about how he is the same size right now as they were. Only 4 more weeks left and we will be welcomed with our miracle baby boy! Lets hope he does not decide to make an appearance before then though! I do not want another NICU baby, I want to experience a full term baby, in my room with me while I recover! It will be a whole new experience for us. We are so use to little girls and now we have to get use to a baby boy!

I am starting to freak out a little bit. The girls require so much attention now, what is it going to be like when we bring a new baby into our lives? It will be crazy, but thankfully we have a great support system., lots of friends and family to help! Good bye sleep once again! But at least we know it gets better, well at least the sleep does! There are bad times, but there is so much good that makes up for it! It's everything we want and more!

Wish us luck and staying in until 39 weeks!

Christmas Pictures

Here are a few of the Christmas pictures I took! They did pretty good! It was so much easier last year! Hopefully next year wont be too hard! We will have another one to add to it too!

Time For Winter Coats!

Well last year we did not have winter coats because we were still in our car seats! So this is very interesting. The girls don't seem to mind and enjoy wearing them. The gloves are little big and they want them on their hands, but then they just take them off! Kind of like the shoes! We had our first snow yesterday and I was dropping them off at my moms today, so figured I better dress them warm!

Keeping Clothes On...

Maysie with her sleeper on backwards!
She looks so funny! Especially when she tries to find the zipper to unzip it!
We even take off our diaper cover!

Maysie signing eat!
Thought I would add a picture of the other two! Here is Makenna being her usual self! Curious as ever!
Jaeli has been very fussy lately, think she is teething again!

So Miss Maysie loves a challenge! She finds a way to take anything I put on her off. I have tried putting her onesie over her pants, I have tried duct tape, nothing works. So now we are putting her sleepers on backwards. So far she has not figured it out! I think the only way she could get it off is if one of her sisters unzipped her! The girl just loves to be naked! She gives you the cutest smirk ever when she is in the process of taking something off. It is very cute! She is definitely going to be trouble in the future!

To my friends/family who are struggling right now...

I have some friends who are really down right now, so I want to give you a story to help you think about "life". You may think you have hit rock bottom, but it could be worse. It can always be worse. Love what you have, find a place that makes you happy. You can love what you have in many different ways, you just have to figure out what way that is and work for it, set a goal.

Here is the story... A family member of mine has been diagnosed with cancer, the very bad kind. It has spread from her spine to her lungs to her brian. She only has a few months to live. The worst part is she has three children and a husband who love her very much. He is devastated because now he has to take care of their three children by himself. The kids are devastated they are about to lose their mother. This all happened because she had to have surgery on her spine and they put a bone from someone else in it to make her better. Years later, they discovered that bone had cancer. And now...it has spread all over her body. THINGS CAN GET WORSE. Hang in there, everyone's lives are different and everyone has their own problems, but just remember, life is precious, you just have to figure out the best way to live it. Things will get better, it may be awhile, it may be soon, just take some time and really think about your life, the people who do love you and what you really want. Only you can make yourself truly happy.
