1 Year Pictures (From Vacation)

Miss Maysie, loves getting her pic taken!
Miss Jaeli Jo, always has such a cute smile!
Miss Makenna, she looks so big!
All of us setting on the swing on the front porch of our cabin! They loved the swing!

I will try to get some printed soon to give out to everyone! These are much over due!!!
I think they turned out pretty good! So much cheaper than taking them somewhere!

Makenna
Weight: 23# 12oz (75-90th percentile)
Height: 30 1/8" (75-90th percentile)
Weight for Height = 75-90th percentile

Jaeli
Weight: 20# 6oz (25-50th percentile)
Height: 27" (3-5th percentile)
Weight for Height = 90-95th percentile

Maysie
Weight: 19# 4oz (10-25th percentile)
Height: 26 7/8" (3-5th percentile)

Makenna is right on track, Jaeli and Maysie are a little behind, but that is expected for being preemies! Overall they are doing pretty good! The nurse did say they are vertically challenged! Ha! I think we just have LOTS of short people on both sides of the family!

Vacation

Well, we are back from vacation! It was a good time, I think the girls enjoyed it too. I am glad to be home though. It is so much easier to take care of them at home, where it is baby proofed! The drive was not so bad, 5 hours with 3 one year olds! I think it was one hour too long on the way there! The way back went even better, we left an hour before bedtime! So they slept the whole way and the first hour they just played and drank their bottle! In case you are wondering, we went to Southern Indiana and stayed at the Ohio River Cabins in Derby Indiana. Near Evansville.

We also went to the Caves. No strollers, so we had to carry them. Luckily, I brought three baby carriers! Josh had one, I had one and my sister Kristin had one! It was about an hour long tour, I think they enjoyed the view and walking around. Makenna got a little fussy when we stopped to watch a video. Maysie got fussy being in the carrier, so I ended up trading her off with my mom every 10 minutes or so, and we just carried her with no support! Jaeli did really good as usual!

We also went to the beach. That was interesting! The girls loved sitting on the beach at the lake. (In Hoosier National Forest I believe?) We sat them all on the shore in the water. They all tried to eat the sand! We finally got Makenna and Jaeli to stop trying, but Maysie would not give it up! So she did not stay in long. Makenna walked around in the water for awhile. That was pretty funny! We did get lots of attention, more than I wanted! My mom and sis told me later that a lady was taking a picture of the girls. Seriously? I guess if its something you have never seen before...you have to get a picture of it!

The cabin we stayed in had a great view and it had this huge porch on the front of it with a gate blocking the stairs! Aside from worrying about splinters...it was like a huge play pin! The girls loved it! As soon as we got there we baby proofed the living room and set up the gate! We got the master bedroom with a bathroom, but just b/c it was the only room that would fit three play pins! The first night was tough, but they did pretty good the second night!

I will try to get some pictures posted soon! I think we also got some good 1 year old pictures as well!

More Pictures

Maysie being funny! This was taken a day or two before she got her fever. She has had a low grade fever for 2 days now. Hopefully it is better tomorrow, if not, then we will be making a trip to the doctor! She just looks miserable! All she wants to do is play!
Miss Jaeli with her Great Grandpa on the 4th, getting ready to watch fireworks. But...she fell asleep right before they started! And slept through them! She has her hands up to her ears, this means... "Oh No". They all do this now, its so funny when they all do it at the same time or do it when they are mad!
Makenna with her bruised eye! She swung a camera into her face. She only cried for a few seconds, but looks like it hurt!
Outside in our new pool! We loved it! Especially since there was warm water in it! Splashed away! I think we lasted an hour! That is pretty good!
Our birthday party for Daddy's side! Thanks Aunt Lari and Aunt Steph for helping us open our gifts. As you can see, Steph was not happy I took a picture! My back hurt pretty bad, so I could not help the girls open their presents :-(.
Maysie opening her presents with Grandpa, wondering what this thing is on her head!
Eating our cake! Jaeli and Maysie did pretty good, it took Makenna awhile, but that is just because I woke her up and she was not very happy!

Ultrasound 14 weeks ... Baby #4

Yesterday I went in for a special ultrasound to check for Down's since it runs in the family. I got to see my doctor I had with the girls. He is a high risk doctor, so I did not need him for this pregnancy. But he is the only one that does this ultrasound. Everything came back normal! So that was great news! The baby looks great, and healthy. Unfortunately, it was too early to tell the sex of the baby. The heart rate was 154, so that was good! When she went to get the heart rate, the baby decided to turn to its side so we could only see its back! It was very much a mover and shaker! It is measuring exactly where it should be!

There was one thing they noticed, I think they called it a Septum. A Septum is when the uterus is heart shaped, and divided into two parts. However, the doctor said that it was impossible because if I had that, I would have never carried the girls to 34 weeks. So he then said it had to be something else, and I can not remember what he called it, but said it was nothing to worry about. I am going to ask my doctor when I go see her at the end of the month. I am mad at myself for not asking then, I don't know why I didn't. But if he said it was nothing to worry about, then I guess I shouldn't worry!

Birthday Pictures & Shoes

Maysie loving her cake!

Jaeli not too sure about it!
Makenna finds it very interesting and eventually very tasty!
I just thought this was a really cute pic of Maysie...thanks Aunt Kathy!
Maysie trying to figure out her shoes!
Jaeli trying to take her shoes off!
Makenna....humm...I don't know!

Here are some pictures of the girls. They are not the best quality, since they were taken with my camera phone. I do have a temporary camera I am using, but I have too lazy to upload those photos. So until then...these will have to do!

Birthday Pics: These were taken at their second Birthday party!

Shoe Pics: I have not put shoes on my girls for the last year...is that bad??? They refuse to wear them now! They just want to play with them! I figure I have a couple months to get them used to them for Winter!

Our Surprise Baby #4

As most of you know, we are pregnant! This was a huge shock to us. We were not expecting this at all. It took us 16 months to get pregnant with the girls, with fertility help. I was pretty sure we would not be able to get pregnant on our own. We both wanted more kids, but knew we would not spend the money again on fertility treatments. So I accepted the fact that the girls may be our only children. I was okay with this, a little sad, but was still hoping maybe I will get pregnant on my own down the road sometime. I sure did not expect it to happen so SOON! I can't even imagine what it is going to be like, 4 kids under 2 years old! It's going to be crazy! This is our miracle baby. I just hope it is very healthy like the girls! A boy would be great, but a girl would be so much easier! So either one will be fine! As for stopping after this one...we will see!

It took me two days to tell Josh, once I saw his reaction, I finally started to get excited! He was happy, he said, what is one more! So knowing he was okay with it, it helped me be less scared! I am now looking forward to experiencing a singleton pregnancy. I am hoping it will be easy, like my pregnancy with the girls! Not a whole lot of symptoms, loss of appetite, nausea here and there, and very TIRED! That is about it. We decided to wait and tell everyone at the girls first birthday, just because I would be 3 months we would know there really is a baby! And only ONE this time! I took 4 pregnancy tests that all came back positive, but it just did not seem real until we saw the baby on the ultrasound at 11 weeks, and even then, not as real as it was with the girls.

The 11 week ultrasound:

We took the girls with us, so that was interesting! Next time, they are staying with Grandma! They did good, just got a little cranky at the end...and bored!

We got to see the baby, we were unsure of the exact due date, since we were not trying. It was what I expected...January 19th 2010. The babies heart rate was 175. The girls were in the 140's throughout the whole pregnancy. Is that high? The baby also measured in at 3" which is long for 11 weeks!

Video Montage - The First Year!

Here is the video I made for the girls first Birthday. I wanted to wait to show it after their birthday parties, so everyone in the family could see it first! There is a special ending!

We do NOT have a camera!

We have our first bite mark! Makenna now bites everything and anything when she gets frustrated or mad, even her self! If you look close enough at the picture you can see her teeth impressions on Maysie's leg top and bottom! I think I caught Jaeli biting Maysie's hand today. Oh am I in for some trouble!
So my camera broke on me yesterday. I pulled out my old one, and that too did not work! So we officially do not have a camera. And for all the pictures I have taken in the last week or two...I still have them, just no EASY way to get them on my computer! So I am trying to talk Josh into getting a new one, so we will see! Until then...my camera on my phone will have to do! Not very good as you can tell from the picture above!

Flash Back...We are One!

Makenna
Jaeli
Maysie

My girls are ONE! I can not believe how fast this year went. I think it has been the fastest year of my life. It seems like yesterday I was laying in the hospital bed getting ready for delivery.

Well lets go back a little...

December 24th (6 weeks pregnant):
Telling my family!

I asked my parents and sisters to all come over on Christmas Eve so we could tell them...how many! They all knew we were pregnant, they just didn't know how many. I remember my dad sitting in a folding chair across the room from me, my mom sitting next to me, then my sister Kristin and then my sister Mandy. I handed my mom the ultrasounds. The first one, showing twins was on top, then the second one showing triplets was on bottom. So my mom looks at it and says... twins, really? Then my sister takes it right away and says, wait a minute, A, B & C...triplets??? As soon as she said that, my mom turns white and her hand covers her chest. I thought she was going to have a heart attack! Once they all processed the news, I think they were very happy for us!

Telling Josh's family!

That night, we decided to go to a Christmas Party with his mom and step-dad. And then later to see all his aunts and uncles! Well I pull out the ultrasound and his mom looks at it, then looks at us, and says...triplets? We of course, say yes. She then starts waving the ultrasound around screaming, triplets, I am going to have triplet grand babies! Over and Over! It was so funny. I think she was more excited than anyone! As for the aunts and uncles later that night... some where speechless and some seemed very happy! Once it sunk it, then we had 20 questions from everyone! Thankfully, we have a very supportive family and everyone seemed very happy for us!

May 2008 (~30 weeks pregnant):
The Tornado!

It was a rainy day, Josh and I decided to go mingle with some friends uptown. I was huge! But I wanted to get out as much as possible since I knew I would not have time for it once the babies came. Well while we were out, I realized I was almost out of my prescription for Tylenol, to help me sleep. So I decided to go re-fill it. It was still raining, not too bad. The closer I got to the store, which was only a few minutes away, the harder it rained. Then the sirens came on. I didn't know what to do. Do I just stay in the truck and wait it out, do I drive back to where Josh was? I decided to get out of the car and go into the drug store. I thought it would be safer than the truck. Boy was that a mistake. About 5 seconds after I got out of the car, this mini tornado started to come right at me. Me and my big belly started to run toward the door. I tripped and fell towards a car...a very nice gentleman caught me and helped me inside. Boy was I scared! I was so sure I was going to go into labor, as well as the employees inside, but thankfully I didn't and everything was fine. Josh calls me, very scared. I told him I was okay and inside. Once it passed, I drove back to him. I think it was the scariest time for both of us!

June 2008 (32 weeks pregnant):
Hospital Scare!

All morning/afternoon, I had been feeling some weird pains running from my back to my front. I didn't think much of it because it was not that painful. Well my mom was coming over at her normal time to see how I was and have dinner together. About an hour before she came, the pain started to get worse. I started to get a little worried. Well my mom comes, and she starts talking about something. I did not want to interrupt her, she was excited or frustrated, I can't remember, about what ever she was talking about. Once she finished, about 5 minutes later. I said, I have some pains in my back and front. She then was upset that I did not stop her to tell her as soon as she walked in. It was funny! So anyways, I call the doctor and tell him. He said it was probably nothing, but since I was pregnant with trips, I should come right in and he would meet me at the hospital in an hour.

We get to the hospital and get signed in. They send me to a room and ask me to put on a gown. At this moment, it became very real. I started to get tears in my eyes. I guess it just never really hit me. But seeing the hospital bed, and the baby bed and all the machines, it hit me all at once. I was scared! Well they hooked me up to all the monitors and did an ultrasound. I was having some minor contractions, nothing serious. So they monitored me over night and sent me home with some medicine to help with the contractions! Oh, and at this time I was put on moderate bed rest! 2 1/2 weeks later, we decided to have the babies!

Before the Birth:

It was about 5:30 a.m. in the morning. Josh and I get up, take showers and head to the hospital. We were so nervous, scared, excited, happy. You name it, we felt it! Our families were going to meet us at the hospital at 7 a.m. I was scheduled for a c-section at 7:30 a.m. I don't think I was as scared this time as I was the first time I went to the hospital for the minor contractions. I get settled in and relax. Our family arrives, most with smiles on their faces, excited to see the babies! Josh brought me some flowers, and I got something else too from someone, but can't remember...I think more flowers! (Sorry) Some of it is a blur!

The C-Section:
It was time! Josh and I start to walk down to the delivery room. He was not aloud to come in while they did my spinal, so he waited outside and peeked in a window so he could watch. The spinal did not hurt much at all, it was just like a bee sting. Everything started to get numb! They lay me down, Josh comes in. Within minutes, they start! I remember still having some feeling in my legs and stomach and almost freaking out that they were going to start cutting and I wouldn't be completely numb! Thankfully, I was! I started to get very nervous...I could tell something was going on. Then everything started to shake, I think that is when Josh got scared, my whole body was shaking and there was nothing he could do. Then all of a sudden, instant relief and a CRY! Wow, I heard Makenna cry. I got tears in my eyes. Where was my baby? They took her right away, I never got to see her. Then I heard another cry within a second of Makennas. It was Jaeli, and once again, they took her away. And then again, my third CRY! It was a great feeling to hear them all cry. And the instant relief when they were all out that I didn't even realize I had! I was so sad that I couldn't see them though. The doctor said they were all fine and healthy and they were taking them to get cleaned off and tested. I think I lost that chance to connect to them right away. I remember laying there while they were putting me back together, Josh leaves to be with the babies. I was all alone, I have not even seen my babies and no one to talk to. I was very disappointed and sad. The first thing I saw were pictures Josh brought me while I was in recovery. I finally got to see them about 3 hours later in the NICU hooked up to all the machines. Later Josh told me it was pretty gross when he walked by me to be with the babies, he saw my insides being put back together and blood everywhere! I saw nothing!!!

The NICU:
The girls were in the NICU for less than 2 weeks. They recovered pretty fast. Right away Jaeli was put on lights for Jaundice. Then the next day, Maysie and Makenna were also put on lights. They were all on O2, but not for very long and a low dose. Makenna was anemic at one point. Maysie had low blood sugar, which caused her to be in the hospital for about 3 days more than the other two. Makenna and Jaeli would have brady's every once in awhile. Maysie did pretty good. Thankfully we only had two on the monitors and not all three of them! Diaper rash...that was bad for Makenna and Maysie. They both were bleeding at times. Maysie was the worst. We ordered specail cream for her two times. I remember crying every day I had to see her little red butt. She would cry every time we changed her diaper. It was so heartbreaking. The feeding tubes were hard too. I believe they only had those in for a few days though. Overall, the NICU stay went pretty well!

Training and Staying Overnight to take Makenna and Jaeli Home:
It was a Saturday night, and we were going to stay overnight with the girls in our own room. We do all the training and then we get settled into our hospital room. The actual room we were suppose to have was not available b/c of construction. So we got stuck in a room with two beds instead of one we could share. Well I took Makenna and Josh took Jaeli. It went pretty well. We woke every three hours to feed them and change them. It was hard to sleep, but we managed.

Leaving Maysie Behind:
Well it was Sunday, and we were taking Makenna and Jaeli home for good. I had to go say good bye to my little Maysie first. I spent some time with her. I couldn't spend a lot of time though b/c I knew we were leaving her behind. I cried most of the time I was with her. We decided to stop at my parents on our way home. I cried the whole way. I felt like I was missing a piece of me. I knew she was safe there and it was good for her to be there until she got her blood sugar up. It only lasted a few days and we were able to take our tiny baby home. I believe she weighed 3lbs 11oz!

This is all just so amazing! My three precious babies are doing great and are 1 year old! Its been a long road, a happy road and very rewarding! I love my three girls with everything I have and am. I couldn't have done this without my wonderful husband. He is the glue that holds us all together!

Happy Birthday My Sweet Babies!
