Update Makenna

I took Makenna to see a pediatric GI doctor. It was not really a success. He pretty much said it sounds like you self diagnosed her. I don't think he knew much about Fructose Malabsorption. Not many do as its not very common. We know she has it... we are sure of it. We think she may be out growing it. But just the simple fact that she had a rash on her bottom for 3 straight years, never gone more than a few days at a time. I have my doubts in doctors sometimes, they just DON'T listen. I know my child... I know what is right and wrong... So after cutting out High Fructose Corn Syrup... BAM... a week later the rash was completely gone. It comes and goes on occasion when we slip up and give her something with it in it... as well as the "Rage" episodes she has. If you could only see her in action, you would understand. I think it's hard for some people to believe an ingredient can make a child have "Rage" but it is true, but only the people who are with her on a daily basis know this and understand. Since we have cut it out, things have been so much easier! The GI doctor said he was sorry he was not much help but did suggest testing her for allergies... so they took bloood to test for Celiac (wheat), corn, dairy, nuts, soy and one other, can't remember. So we will see what the results are. If anyone... family or friends would like more information, please let me know. I have a list of foods she can not have as well as an explanation to help understand what this is. Having the support of friends and family makes the stress of it all a little less.

Potty Training... a SUCCESS!

Well we don't have many accidents... it's great to have three of four out of diapers. Jace is trying, but it will be awhile yet for him I think. We have maybe one or two accidents a month, but other than that they use the potty before bed, before we go to the store or out and about and then of course whenever they feel the need! The only PROBLEM we have had is leaving a potty in their room in case they have to go in the middle of the night. I think we broke them of it, but they were playing with their pee... YUCK! One day I found some wet baby dolls, a few days Josh had to clean the carpet in their room and as you can see in the picture... sometimes its splashed on them. But I think they are "over" it and do not play in it anymore! I hope! Good Job Girls!!!

Jace has proven to be ALL boy with all his falls, bumps and bruises, no fear, always getting into trouble and LOVES to be outside... all he wanted to do was play in the snow... but with this 80 degree weather in March, I don't think it will be happening!
Jaeli is going to be a fashion diva, she loves dressing up and pretending to be a princess or "mommy" or whoever it may be that day. I think she loves shoes the most... we might be in trouble!
Mak will do whatever she wants, whenever she wants and however she wants! She is so incredibly smart and on her good days, makes me laugh and always asking 20 questions. It never ends! She sure does love to learn!
Oh Maysie, she is still and always has been my DRAMA QUEEN. She will cry constantly until you give her what she wants, and if you don't... well you have to put her in time out or just listen to it and ignore her. She LOVES attention, especially from Mommy! She is my cuddle bug!

Grandpa J

The kids are OBSESSED with Grandpa J's ipad and phone. They are constantly playing games on them or watching movies. They get upset when he is not there to let them do it. They have even learned that when the light gets low it is time to re-charge! Most of the games are learning games, so it's not necessarily a bad thing and they are learning to take turns, so that is a plus! They love their Grandpa!

They LOVE their sunglasses! They have them in the car usually and always wear them to keep the sun out of their eyes... they want to be like mommy!

We got into Preschool!

Just a few hours after the girls had their Preschool screening we got a call that they got in! It was for the morning class, we were hoping for the afternoon, but thats okay we will take what we can get! They LOVED it and did not want to leave... so I think they will do just fine!

The picture above they are wearing dresses I made out of pillow cases... they are so cute!

Pre-School Screening tomorrow!

Grandma has been working really hard with the girls on pre-school. They are doing really well and LOVE it. She always has a fun activity for them to do. Tomorrow we are taking them to a Pre-School screening for 4 year old pre-school. The classes have a waiting list and they kids have to be screened before they are approved due to half the class being special ed kids. I am crossing my fingers they do well and Mak does not have an episode. It is only an hour and it takes them 30 minutes just to warm up, so I think we will be okay, but if they are looking for interaction with other kids... probably not going to happen. Crossing my fingers it goes well cause this is the one we want them to get into. Wish us luck!

Snow... lack of

The kids have been begging to play in the snow, but it just never stays long so we are never able to take them out in it. We have brand new snow suits they have not worn and sounding like they wont get to this year. They are big, so hopefully they will still fit next year. Jace has yet to play in the snow and he wants to so so so bad! Poor guy. The short amount of time they did play in it, they had a blast! But we do have the basement we let them play in on occasion and they love that as well!
