Got to spend the evening with Maysie last night. She loved the attention of course! She insisted we go to her favorite place for dinner, Arbys! We went grocery shopping, dinner and then played a little and had dessert! Oh and of course she slept in my bed too... She loves to cuddle and get that alone time.

The triplets had their 9 year check up today. It was very entertaining! They all did great and are doing great. Just a few minor things we have to work on. Jaeli and Maysie are gaining too much weight and their cholesterol is a bit high so need to cut out the sweets, cut back on quantity, drink more water and eat more fruits and vegetables. We don't keep many sweets or junk food in the house but they get a lot of it on the weekend so we will have to watch them more. Doc said they have gained a lot more than they should. So hoping we can get them back on track. The entertaining part was when Maysie got her fiber pricked to check her cholesterol... Oh my! It was like she was being stabbed! So dramatic! So many tears! Then poor Jaeli had some tears when Doc asked about their friends. She was sad because a friend from last year was with Maysie now and it's the end of the world and she won't ever find another one! Then she didn't want to go back to school because she was worried everyone would look at her for coming in late as she would be embarrassed. Mak got a good laugh out of all of it!

During Makenna's soccer practices the other 3 get very bored so we found a new park to go to while she practices. They had a blast, even for the short 45 minutes we were there. They asked to keep going back. Its great to be able to trust Makenna to stay at practice until it ends. She is so mature at times! It's only a coupe minutes away, if that, and she knows if she needs me, her coaches will call me.

Can't believe the kids are already in 3rd grade and 2nd grade! Time is going too fast. Jace didn't do so well the first day getting on bus but much happier day 2! They all seem to like their teachers but Jae and Maysie are struggling socially, but they always have. Hoping they make a coupe good friends this year. I hate that the school splits every class each year. If they do make a friend, they usually don't nice onto the next grade with them. But chances are that friend will be with another one of the girls so then we have to deal with jealousy. Guess it's just something they will have to overcome. And my little social bug has never had a problem making friends. He has so many and adapts well each year. I asked him who his favorite friend in his new class is. He says Karah... She was in his class last year and again this year. But made it very clear she isn't his "girlfriend"! He has a couple other favorites but they are boys!

Last night we had a family reunion on Josh's side. The kids had a blast and swam most of the day. I was so tired towards the end and Jaeli has a really bad ear ache so Josh and I took her and Maysie home. The other two stayed the night, they weren't ready to go! Nice quiet morning!

We went to the kids school the other night for open house to take their supplies in and meet their teachers. I had not met 3 of them yet so it was nice to see who will be taking care of and teaching them this next year. I have to say LOVE then all! I think pairing a child with a teacher that clashes with them and their personality will effect how well they do. Proof of Jace last year... I liked his teacher last year but Jace needs more stability, strictness, communication, and compassion. Thankfully my request this year for him to have Maysies teacher was granted! I think he will do so much better this year! I think the girls got pairedwell too. We will see! When we were done, my mom and I took them out for a "goodbye summer" dinner!

Makenna's favorite sport is basketball. She loves soccer too but right now she would choose basketball over soccer. She is excited for camp to start this fall. It's only a week-long but she seems to enjoy it. I think maybe a couple of the other kids will do it too. They have wanted a basketball hoop for a while now and we were just waiting until something came available. Occasionally she would go to our neighbors behind us and play there... they would even play with her sometimes. But the other day someone we know offered their's to us since they don't use it anymore. So we took them up on it and now we have a basketball hoop. The last few days she has been obsessed with going out to play. And of course the others too but I'm sure that will die down soon. She just loves to go out there and shoot hoops! Oh and try some tricks! Maybe we have a basketball star on our hands!

Jace finally lost his two front teeth. Now I have to figure out if it's time to get his gum clipped because of the gap that is caused because of his low gum. If I remember correctly the dentist said it is to be clipped once the front two teeth come out. He is very nervous! But also very excited he pulled them out all by himself. He asked for floss and for me to tie it to the door and his tooth and he wanted to do it all by himself. He did both this way!

Just a few days left until school starts. We will have three third graders and one second grader. Where has time gone? Went to a special lunch last week with Jace to meet with his teacher and friends. He seemed to enjoy it! He seems most excited about going. This week we have open house, kids get to meet with their teachers and take in their school supplies. The girls will have iPads that they have to take home every day now. So now I have to set up a whole new charging station. They have to be fully charged when they go to school in the mornings. Should be interesting! We went on another tubing trip last weekend, kind of a goodbye to Summer. Of course we all had a blast. I am so ready for school to start! I am just ready to be back on the schedule and not have to worry about daycare or where I'm going to take the kids when daycare is not available and for them to start sleeping on a normal schedule again. They seem to make their way to the couches every night or my bed! Time to get a bit more strict on it. Hoping they all do well this year and more excited about it than they were last year. I think they all have good teachers this year so should be good.

Today is the birthday of a very special friend. I wouldn't normally write a blog post for something like this, but this friend has a special place in my heart and although she may never even see this, I wanted to wish her a very Happy Birthday and write a little something about how important this person is to me.
There was a short time over this last year that was probably the hardest time my family and I have ever endured. We went through a very sad, rough, stressful situation and this friend of mine was there for me through it all. She didn't have to leave her family to come sit with me and comfort me, talk me through it and just listen. But she dropped everything and came. She sat with me through the tears, the fears, the worries, the laughs and the smiles.
I have many friends and family who would do the same, but the relationship this friend and I have is very special due to our history. We have known each other for probably over 15 years. We were the best of friends and then one day we become enemies. I don't remember all that happened, mostly just the feelings. The feelings I had, and the feelings I caused her to have. But we found our way back to each other, it took a couple years to truly feel comfortable and have no doubt... but we did it. I couldn't ask for a better friend. She knows me better than most, she knows my strengths and weaknesses and never judges.
Most of my "friends" are family, a few outsiders, including this person, but she is more than just a friend, she is a best friend, a sister, and a fellow mother who understands me and has been there through it all.
Thanks for being such a great friend! I hope your birthday is wonderful and you find much joy today!

About a year or two ago, the kids started showing a lot of signs that they were struggling getting the attention they desired and needed. Having four kids, especially all the same age makes it very difficult to give them undivided attention. Mak has always been a loner in her personality, her looks, her attitude, her hobbies, everything. So of course she loves being alone and getting that attention whether it be from me, Josh, her grandma or another family member. The time that I spend with them during this alone time is very precious and I wouldn't trade it for the world. It allows me to do things with her she enjoys doing and not have to worry about taking care of the other three at the same time. Will they be happy with what she's chosen to do? Are they going to fight the whole time because they don't want to do what she wants to do, or just simply because their siblings and they fight. Just to see the joy in their face having you all to themselves is priceless. And we don't even do that much, it's just sitting with me and watching a movie or playing dolls or with Legos like I did with Mak tonight. I always take them shopping with me because you know, taking four kids to the grocery store is impossible and takes 4 hours instead of the one hour it takes me with one child. And the bills half the cost... okay well maybe not. But yes it's a struggle to get to the grocery store on the weekends with as busy as we are and so the only time I can go is during the week after work and I can't have them all with me. Josh works 2nds, so its just me! So they love going to the grocery store for their special time and helping me and of course picking out a reward for their good behavior over the last few weeks. It really works out well. Huge thanks to my mom for helping with this!
