Mess Free Bibs!

My girls can get messy when eating, so I decided to try and make some bibs that can help prevent some of the mess. I think I succeeded! Their hands are covered completely, so no more pulling the bib down or grabbing things and putting their hands all over their face and baby food. Every time they touch their face, they just wipe it clean! Ha! I think they worked really well! Here are some pictures of them. Between the bibs and my sisters flowers...maybe I can go into business! Of course, some moms would probably just rather deal with the mess than buy bibs to save 5 minutes of clean-up. Not me, I hate messes! Might be worth a try though!

Here are some cute pictures I took a couple nights ago while the girls were waiting on their bottles to warm up. They are so much more active now, it is adorable. They make me smile every day! I love my three little angels, they are getting so big!

WIC

Well I had my WIC appointment today. It took awhile, but went pretty well! We were approved . We will now be getting 30 cans of formula a month and 6 boxes of cereal! We are so grateful, I don't know what we would have done. These last couple months, if it wasn't for my parents, we would have been really struggling. So thank you to my mom and dad for your help with everything, not just the formula! The lady at the WIC office said they were more than happy to help us and would help us out any other way they can. There are some progrmas they can set up for us if we need them to when the times. She also said they should be able to stay on it until they are 5 years old. So that will be nice. I also went to the DMV to get the handi-cap tag, we got it no problem. It will be nice to have on the days we can not find a parking space big enough to put the stroller next to the car/van and not behind it, especially at the hospital. I don't want to take advantage of it, so hopefully we wont have to use it very often. The girls weights were pretty much what I expected. Although, she did tell me that Jaeli and Maysie are short for their age...but I guess that runs in their dads family! Big girl Makenna is almost 20 lbs and is considered tall for her age! Miss Jaeli is almost 17 lbs, and little Maysie is only 15 lbs. She is falling behind again...I think I am going to up her to 22 cal again. They did pretty good, Makenna got cranky towards the end, but I held her and got her to sleep while talking to the lady, so it only lasted a few minutes. Thank you to grandma Janna for your help. I don't think I could have done that by myself!

My girls are famous!

Okay, so not really, but the hospital where they were born called me today and asked if they could take some pictures of the girls for their Anniversary. Some kind of conference...not sure on the details yet, but they want to take some birthday pictures of them and a few others to blow up really big. The best part is it is no charge to me and I get a CD of all the pics they take to do what I want with! I am excited. Hopefully they wont cry too much. We will see! Should be interesting. I am a little confused on the birthday thing since they are only 6 months old, but I think it might be for a promotion for future babies to come back on their 6 month birthday. (I can see it now, she is going to sit them all in front of the cake and bang...they all fall face first into it. They only sit unassisted for about 10-20 seconds and then fall over!) The hospital has an actual photography studio in the hospital, they are professional pictures they take when the babies are born. They are sure expensive though! They did such a great job on their birth pictures, so good that they have blown up pictures of them in the hospital and a hospital in Michigan. Hopefully it wont take three months to get the CD like it did to get their birth pictures back. I will be sure to post them when we do get them back.

I have the mother's corsages done too...but forgot to save the picture. They look similar to Greg's boutonniere, but with an open rose. (One is an opened ivory rose with a closed purple rose and purple flowers, then the other is an opened purple rose with a closed white rose and white flowers.)

I was assigned the duty of making all the flowers for my sisters wedding next month since I made all of mine for my wedding too! I think they turned out pretty good. I still have a lot left to do on them. They all need touched up a bit, some ribbon put in/on them and maybe some glue to hold them together better. I also have to do all the flower arrangements. What do you think, should I go into business? Ha!

I AM SHOCKED!

My girls slept through the night for the very first time! From 10 p.m. until 8:00 a.m. Wow! I woke up this morning to get ready for work and I asked Josh what time he fed the girls (he was still up), he said he never did. They didn't make a sound all night and no one woke up. I then asked, well what about Makenna's medicine, she can't miss a dose. He said he gave it to her in her sleep, she sucked it down and went right back to sleep! Did I say WOW? That is great, maybe we will have to see if we can keep it up! Then next will be scheduled naps! I don't think they will pick that up on their own.

Some other information...

Oh my gosh...it is freezing outside...literally! It is -12 degrees today, windshield of -30 degrees. If I didn't have a job to go to, I would probably stay home!

I just got the call that Jaeli is FREE of her monitor! They are going to come pick it up next week. Oh wow, I am excited! NO MORE MONITORS!!! I am sure she is going to be happy too! I wonder if they will take back the sticky things to attach the wires...we have lots we never used!

It was hilarious last night, I will have to post a picture of it. Little Miss Maysie PUCKED in my moms hair! HA HA HA HA HA, it was so funny. It was a nice laugh. I looked over (only because my mom was screaming!) and saw white stuff dripping from her hair onto her check and down her shirt! HA HA HA! It was great! Duh mom...you don't lift a baby over your head 10 minutes after she ate!!!

A little note on Makenna, you can tell she is sick. She cries a lot more than normal. I think she may even be sleeping more. But she sure does love her medicine! She always wants more! My poor baby :-(. Oh, kind of funny but not. She was playing with a rattle last night and smacked herself in her head reall hard...ouch...she cried, very loud!

Pictures - 6 months

I thought they turned out great! I will try to print some for those of you who usually get them...next time I see you! I wanted to take them somewhere professional, but with the weather and the problems I have just doing it at home, I decided to wait until 9 months. I think this is the first time I got all of them to smile (with the help of daddy and grandpa).

Poor Maysie was sick and doctor said to prop her. Don't like her sleeping like this at night, but it seemed to help her and I don't think she moved an inch the whole night!

So today we had our 6 month check up. It went pretty well, except for the three shots each! Jaeli is still on her monitor, it went off last night a couple times, so she might be on it for a little longer. Makenna has a DOUBLE ear infection. Luckily, it is just the start, so the doc said the antibiotics should get rid of it pretty quick. It doesn't seem to bother her too much. Maysie is now off of the 22 cal formula! She has caught up with Jaeli in height but still behind 1 lb in weight. Hopefully she will catch up, but it really isn't that big of a difference. The doctor also said they are looking great. We also have to start scheduled naps soon and maybe trying to get them to sleep longer. But she said it is really up to us and what we feel comfortable with. I think we are starting round 2 of our colds though...hopefully it doesn't get worse than the last one. They are able to get a flu shot now, but they were out, so we have to go elsewhere. No place near me, so will probably have to travel to Fort Wayne as usual! Taking them to the doctor sucked so bad today. The weather was very bad, I would have stayed home and skipped work if it wasn't for the doctor apt. I am just grateful I made it home safely. The parking garage was packed. The only spots available were the ones up top in the opened area. There was nothing...not even employee spots or handicap spots. People were racing to get spots. When we left, there was a sign on the door that said all employees parked in patient parking had to move their cars to the top opened part. It was still packed, so don't think they did it. I think I waited for a spot for 20 minutes. We were a bit late! Some guy waited for me to unload the kids and stroller back into my car, took about 10 minutes. He was desperate! I hate Fort Wayne (Population of 205,000 - 30 min to doctors office)

Jaeli ... 16 lbs and 24 1/2" (25 percentile...I think)
Maysie ... 15 lbs and 24 1/2 " (10 percentile)

We made it to the regular charts for all of them...bye bye preemie chart!

6 Month Update!

Okay, so its been a few days since I last posted...actually last year as my sister brought to my attention! Ha! Thanks Kris! I have been pretty busy lately helping her with her wedding. But I have some time, so thought I would post an update on the girls. No pictures this time though.

Makenna
She is my chunky girl, 18 lbs now. Wow, bout time for a regular rear-facing car seat. She is still very independent and does not care too much for her other sisters. She loves to stand, always makes her happy. She usually has a smile on her face. She only laughs occasionally. She moves around a lot, you have to keep an eye on her. She rolls over and occasionally rolls back over. I find her a few feet away from where I put her every once in awhile. She loves to move around in her crib. I find her in the weirdest positions. She sleeps on her stomach now...no avoiding it. She still can't figure out crawling, but she sure is trying! She can also sit by herself for 30 seconds or so. She seems to enjoy it! She likes to fall over and let mommy catch her!

Jaeli Jo
She is still my sweet girl. She weighs about 17 lbs now. She is getting big! She loves to laugh, just about anything makes her smile. She laughs at the weirdest things too. She is very lovable. She has not mastered rolling over yet, but she is trying. She likes to sleep on her side. We still have her on her monitor at night. It has only gone off a couple times this month for a low heart rate. I think we are done with the apnea spells. Hopefully she will be off of it in a week or so. She still loves to sleep, but has to have her pacifier. And when she is hungry, you better feed her or else. She has become my slow eater though. She hates being on her stomach, so I don't know how rolling over is going to go. She sits by herself for a little bit, but not long. Every once in awhile she has her moments when she wants to be held all the time, but not too often.

Maysie
She is my needy and silly girl. She weighs about 15.5 lbs, so she is falling behind. We have her on 22 cal formula. Hopefully she catches up to the other two sometime soon. She is so silly when she is in a good mood, usually in the morning. It is funny! She loves to be held and talked to. She has many moments a week when she has to be held or walked with. I think a lot of it has to do with constipation. She likes to be on her belly, but has not mastered rolling over yet. She can sit for about 10 seconds on her own, we have some work to do! She is starting to eat a little faster, so that is nice. She has the funniest expressions, she is just so cute! She loves talking to her sisters, they don't talk to her so much though.

All of them
We are all reaching for things and grabbing things. They love to put anything and everything in their mouths. No teeth yet though. We give baby food a try every other week for a few days, but they just have no interest in it what so ever, maybe next week! It is so messy! I am working on making special bibs that should help. I will post um when done. They are all sleeping pretty well, from about 10 p.m. until 6 a.m., sometimes 7 a.m. and then go back to sleep until 9 a.m. when I wake them up. They go to bed with no problems about 85% of the time. I hate the rough nights, but maybe one day! They are so much more fun now! They are starting to cry when you walk past them and don't pick them up, uh oh, we are in for some trouble! We are trying to teach them to hold their bottles, they do pretty good for just starting. Hopefully in a month or two they will be able to. It sure will make it much easier!

About Mom
I had a Mirena Implant put in when they were 6 weeks old. I couldn't figure out why I have been so tired lately. I get between 7 and 9 hours of sleep a night. Well I did some research and discovered many women on the Mirena are experiencing tiredness as well. I get so tired it is scary. I am thinking about removing it and taking the chance of getting pregnant. But since I have PCOS, my chances are slim, but then again, once you have a baby, your chances go up. It's not like we have time now anyways! Would it be so bad? I am crazy!!! Don't want to this soon though. I went and visited a friend at the hospital today who just had a baby. She was a month early. Man, that baby was so tiny, I don't even remember my girls being that small, but they were even smaller. My biggest was only 13 oz. smaller than hers. But she was adorable! I miss them that small.
