New bedrooms and a play room.

We have been doing some work on our house, currently updating a bathroom and re-arranged our bedrooms. We will eventually have a new living room, so right now we are living out of our soon to be dining room and turned our old living room into a Master Bedroom which attaches to the new bathroom we are updating. That left an extra room for the kids which we turned into a play room for the girls. Jace moved to our old room and now has a walk in closet and his own bathroom. I am sure we will be more appreciative of it when he is older, living with 3 sisters!

Busy Weekend!

Makenna got all her circles on our reward board and as her reward, she decided to ask her cousin Alexis over for a sleepover. They were up all night but they had a good time. The next day we had a play date with some friends and they fell asleep in the car on our way there... this is very unusual! It was a very long and fun weekend for them.

The Tooth Fairy Has Come!

The time has come! We have lost a total of 2 teeth between the girls and more are to come very soon. They are also getting in their 6 year molars. Makenna had a bad experience with her first tooth and I hope her gums heal. There was no way to know her tooth root would still be attached. When we were finally able to get it pulled out, she was in a lot of pain. Maysie’s came out no problem and she was super excited. They both were very happy to get money from the Tooth Fairy! Jaeli is afraid to let anyone go near her teeth. Her’s will have to fall out on their own. (The same day the other two lost their teeth, Jaeli got hurt by Cooper jumping on her, as you can see he scratched her face pretty bad.) We helped Maysie and Makenna with their first one. Not so sure they will let us help again though!

What's Been Happening?

We joined the new YMCA in January and have been going about 3x per week since. The kids love it. They have free child care for members 2 hours a day, so I can go work out while they play and then they are also in Gymnastics and Swim Lessons.

I really enjoy the break I get, that time by myself not being bothered every 5 minutes because someone needs something - it works and we are all getting exercise!

The best part is, my sister in law goes with me, as well, her kids and we keep each other motivated and accountable. I think without her, I would have missed more than a few days.

Makenna enjoys the Gymnastics the most and is such a monkey! As for swimming, I am hoping they learn some new things and can swim even better than they do now. My goal is to avoid them having to wear their arm floats when they swim this summer at Grandma J’s. It was a constant battle last year and I would like to avoid it knowing they are safe.

We have been so busy updating and remodeling the house, school and everything else we have going on. I am lucky if I update this blog once a month.

The girls all have a new row of bottom teeth coming in, hopefully their baby teeth start to come out soon.

The girls have been picking out their own clothes for awhile now. However, I am starting to think I need to help them again or call the fashion police to give them some pointers. Jaeli seems to be the worst! At least she tries!

Jace is such a handful. I can’t get him to eat what I make, only what he wants which is usually junk. Always getting into stuff and does not listen well. I just don’t know what to do with him. His tantrums are horrible lately. He can be hilarious at times too and so loving. He is a Mama’s boy. He will knock on his door making me think he needs something and when I open it, jump out and try to scare me, like you see in the picture. His nick name should be bruiser, he looked like someone beat him up the other day. The first day he ran and fell into the couch, giving himself a big cut on his eye, then the next day he fell again goofing around and busted his lip. Somehow he got a bruise on his face too. That’s Jace for you!

Homework has been crazy. Thanks to my mom, she has been helping out a lot with it. It just feels like they have multiple things to do every single night. I can understand 1 thing and occasionally 2 things at night... but it’s getting bad... are they expected to learn 24/7? They are 6 years old, let them have some fun. And then it becomes even harder when I don’t understand the homework as you see from the picture.

Jace Turns 5!

Jace is a big boy now! He is 5 years old, can you believe it? Where did time go? My baby is no longer a baby. I miss my little guy, but the little man he is becoming is amazing (most of the time). I took him for his 5 year check up a couple weeks ago and thought the girls didn’t get any shots at this age... but I was wrong, really wrong. I told him no shots this time. After getting checked out, the nurse asked me if I wanted him to get his shots for Kindergarten. So he got 5 shots, one was the flu shot. I didn’t want to take any chances after our scare over Christmas. He was not happy and their were many tears. Afterwards, he says, "I am tired, can I stay here?" I assume since he got his shots already, he wanted to be admitted now so he could get all the attention he got a few weeks ago. So funny!

Weight is 40 lbs

Height is 41 3/8"

He is growing way too fast!

We had a big birthday party for his 5th. Spiderman came to his party. He has been asking for him to come ever since Rupunzel came to the girls. He loved every minute of it. We invited a few boys from his class since our only other guests were girls. Only one was able to come, but I was very grateful for him coming. Ever since then, they have become very good friends and I think they both enjoyed themselves. Jace got a brand new bike that he is begging to ride! So ready for Spring.
